50 years of Polaroid photography
September 4th, 2006This new book showcases the eclectic works of more than 50 internationally known artists and celebrates instant photography’s scientific and artistic achievement. Polaroid photography was invented by Edwin Land. Land was the American inventor and physicist whose one-step process for developing and printing photographs created a revolution in photography - instant photography (in 1946).
For us it was instant joy and even if the picture was crappy there was always something to do with it. 800, is the number of polaroids we took when we were 20 and there’all scanned so maybe one day they’ll be shown but there are a some compromising ones so let’s be wise and wait a little longer before going public…
The polaroid above is an auto-portrait inside an art piece from Dan Graham called “two way mirror cylinder inside cube” and was taken in 1992 in NYC.
